Reseller hosting is a term used to describe the supply of wholesale web hosting services to web designers and developers.

These companies then offer "their own web hosting" to their clients when they build their websites, this appears to the client that the web designer is actually responsible for the hosting service and in fact they are, but ultimately, behind the scenes, its the web hosting provider that supplied the reseller account.

Others will buy reseller hosting accounts and then set up their own web hosting company, and will supply hosting mainly to people who already have, or are building their own website, they will always re-brand the service with their own logo and take care of sales and technical support, often directly from the hosting provider.

A customer will buy web space from the reseller who, in turn, buys from the actual web hosting company but at a much lower cost.
