• ALT TAGS
• Alt tags are used for screen readers, these are programs that can read the contents of a website back to anyone with a sight difficulty. They describe the image to a screen reader. Hover your mouse over an image to see the alt tag text.
• Applet
• An applet is a program written in the Java programming language and included your HTML page, just like an image, the applet's code is transferred to your system and executed by the browser's Java Virtual Machine.

• Blog simply means "business log", its where you write your website or company information and updates for all to see.

• An application used to view websites and navigate the World Wide Web, most popular are Internet Explorer and Firefox.

• A content management system or CMS is something written into a website so the website owner can update the website without having to ask your webmaster.

• A Domain is your website address, for example, www.yourcompanyname.com etc.

• A term used to describe an online shopping website, basically, if you sell from your website, its ecommerce.

• FTP
• File Transfer Protocol. Ability to transfer your web files from your computer to your web server.

• HTML
• Hypertext Markup Language. A standard language of website code, imbedded in the "source code" of web pages, this is the text content, images and links to other pages.

• Built into YOUR HTML, this allows a text area or image to become a link to another page.

• Internal Links
• Navigation links that join your web pages together.

• Javascript
• Javascript is a small programming language that provides interactive features such as drop-down menus or an image that changes when you hover your mouse over them.

• Meta Tags are the behind the scenes tags that search engines read and help them to understand what your site is about, title tag, description and keyword tag.

• Reciprocal linking
• Simply means to swap a link with another website, preferably one that a similar product or service but not the same.

• Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
• A process of improving the quality and the volume of traffic to your website from the search engines. This will include, (but not limited to) generating the Title, Description and Keyword Meta Tags for all your pages.
• Sitemap
• A webpage listing all your web pages in one place, when a search engine finds your sitemap it knows you are providing a good internal link structure.

• WebMail
• Webmail is provided to all websites so you can view your emails from anywhere, as long as you have an Internet connection.
