The business has been established for over 30 years. The manor itself is Georgian, built in 1737 and is the family home. The business is located in the 19th century granary barn which forms two sides of a stunning courtyard. The old stables have been converted into deluxe accommodation each room with its own en-suite and with modern facilities.

Kay Books of Boston was originally a small family-run High Street bookshop in Boston, Lincolnshire. This business ran from 1975-83. The business was then bought out by a local department store and 'Kay Books' as a shop disappeared. Kay Books are now an online bookshop with a variety of books almost always with some connection to Lincolnshire under the publishers name of Richard Kay Publications.

The Toft House Hotel near Bourne is a converted farmhouse and was opened to the public 1979. In April 1988 after a four year design and build process, the golf course was opened. Built on the original land of the farm, the golf course uses the natural contours of the Lincolnshire escarpment to provide a stern test of golf.
